New law waives salary limitations for those Veterans Affairs directors since 2010.
On Thursday, President Trump signed bill S.3084 into law. It was introduced to the Senate in December of last year, where it later passed unanimously after an amendment by the House in early June of this year. The new law removes previously implemented caps on the salaries of directors of medical centers run by the Department of Veterans Affairs across the country.
Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. of California, a Navy Veteran on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, praised the bill as it passed through the Senate. Heartened by the bipartisan efforts to support veterans affairs, he was enthusiastic about the hiring possibilities this new law could bring about, enticing new and better directors into higher paying jobs.
